PSYCHOLOGY/DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM

Purpose of program:

The Child and Family Centre provides psychological assessment and clinical supports and services for children and their families. The supports and services are for children residing in the District of Sudbury-Manitoulin who are 17 years of age or younger. These services include: diagnostic behavioural/mental health needs (i.e. global developmental disability); psychological assessment for behavioural/mental health needs; clinical assessments/consultations for behavioural/mental health needs.

The purpose of assessment and counseling services is to diagnose, where appropriate and identify strengths and developmental needs, make recommendations, and provide counseling as required for children with suspected or diagnosed Global Developmental Disability (GDD). Each child will have a current Treatment Plan (TP) that reflects an assessment of his/her needs and preferences. The TP will identify the specific services/supports received by the child, the expected outcomes and be based on the principles of person centered planning, self-determination and choice.
