INTENSIVE CHILD AND FAMILY INTERVENTION

Purpose of program:

To provide children, up to 12 years, residing in the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin, with severely maladaptive behaviors with intensive, flexible mental health treatment services in their home, schools, and/or communities through Child and Youth Workers working on goals identified by a Clinician and with the treatment plan attached to a Child and Family Team.

The Child and Youth Worker services are intensive, short-term, and with specific goals identified in a treatment plan that is developed by the Clinician who case manages the file. Intervention is 6 - 8 weeks in length to a maximum of 3 months in duration. Clear "buy-in" from family, school or community where the intervention is to take place is essential. The treatment plan needs to provide clear goals and outcome measures to document progress. A transition plan, with follow-up, is required as part of the treatment plan.
